Position Overview

The Project Manager at Vertical Solutions Roofing & Construction is a high-performance sales and project management role responsible for generating roofing sales and managing projects from contract to completion.

This role is designed for experienced roofing professionals who are confident generating their own opportunities, closing insurance restoration projects, and delivering a professional customer experience from inspection to final payment.

Project Managers are responsible for

  • Generating leads through door knocking and networking
  • Closing residential roofing projects through insurance claims
  • Managing the project lifecycle
  • Meeting with adjusters
  • Writing work orders in our CRM system (AccuLynx)
  • Ensuring excellent customer communication
  • Collecting payments and completing final walkthroughs

This is a results-driven position with significant earning potential for high performers.

Compensation

This role offers one of the highest commission structures in the industry.

Project Managers earn

40% of job profit

Commissions are paid in three stages to allow faster earnings:

1. Pre-Commission

Paid when the work order is signed and the first insurance check is collected.

2. Build Day Commission

Paid once the roofing project is completed.

3. Final Commission

Paid when the project is fully completed and final payment is collected.

Lead Generation Expectations

Senior Project Managers are expected to consistently generate opportunities through proactive prospecting and relationship development.

Primary lead sources include

  • Door knocking
  • Self-generated referrals
  • Company provided leads
  • Marketing generated leads
  • Realtor relationships
  • Insurance agent relationships
  • Property manager relationships

Minimum Weekly Activity Expectations

  • 200 doors knocked per week
  • 200 outbound phone calls per week
  • 10 leads generated per week
  • 2 signed prospects per week

These metrics ensure consistent pipeline growth and long-term production.

Primary Responsibilities

Sales

  • Perform residential roof inspections
  • Identify storm damage and insurance opportunities
  • Present roofing solutions to homeowners
  • Convert inspections into signed work orders
  • Develop referral relationships with local professionals

Project Management

  • Meet insurance adjusters on site
  • Write work orders in AccuLynx
  • Coordinate with production and crews
  • Maintain customer communication throughout the build
  • Perform final walkthroughs with homeowners
  • Collect all payments and ensure projects close successfully

CRM Discipline

Accurate documentation inside our CRM system is mandatory.

If it is not documented in AccuLynx, it did not happen.

Project Managers are responsible for

  • Updating lead status
  • Recording inspection notes
  • Uploading documentation
  • Notating all communication with homeowners in acculynx
  • Writing accurate work orders
  • Tracking project progress

Additional Sales Opportunities

In addition to roof replacements through insurance claims, Senior Project Managers may also generate revenue through:

  • Roofing repairs
  • Maintenance memberships
  • Referral relationships

Retail roofing jobs occur occasionally but are not the primary focus in our markets.

Schedule Expectations

This is a performance-based role rather than a fixed schedule.

Typical expectations include

  • Monday through Saturday field activity
  • Evening and weekend homeowner availability when needed
  • Immediate deployment after local storm events

Storm response readiness is critical to success in this role.

Employment Structure

Project Managers begin as 1099 contractors.

After 90 days of employment, they transition to W-2 employee status.

Health insurance benefits are currently in development and expected to be offered within the next 6–12 months.

Reporting Structure

Project Managers operate within Vertical Solutions’ structured sales leadership system and report directly to the Senior Team Leader (STL) for their market.

The Senior Team Leader assists with

  • Field coaching
  • Sales process reinforcement
  • Inspection support when needed
  • Team coordination
  • Maintaining accountability to company standards

This leadership structure ensures that every Project Manager receives consistent support, coaching, and accountability in the field.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet the following requirements

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • Ability to work outdoors and walk roofs safely
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • CRM discipline and organization
  • Willingness to prospect consistently through door knocking
