ABOUT BRT
Building & Restoration Technology (BRT) is an independent manufacturer's representative firm serving the New York City metro area. We represent industry-leading building envelope brands including Johns Manville, Owens Corning, and across roofing, waterproofing, insulation, and facade restoration. We are aggressively growing our single-ply platform across Long Island and the Hudson Valley and are looking for a driven sales professional to own that market.
THE ROLE
The Single-Ply Sales Representative is responsible for developing and closing roofing sales opportunities with commercial roofing contractors, primarily on Long Island. You will work directly with roofing contractors, GCs, and distributors to drive specification, pull-through, and project wins on JM and Owens Corning TPO/PVC/EPDM systems. This is a field-first, relationship-driven role with real earning potential for the right candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospect and manage relationships with commercial roofing contractors across Long Island and surrounding markets
- Drive single-ply membrane sales (TPO, PVC, EPDM) through contractor pull-through and distributor coordination
- Conduct job-site visits, pre-bid walks, and technical meetings with contractors and project owners
- Log all activity, meetings, and pipeline in BRT's CRM system consistently and accurately
- Coordinate with BRT's manufacturer contacts (JM, OC) for submittals, warranties, and technical support
- Represent BRT at trade events, contractor meetings, and manufacturer training sessions
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets aligned with rep ramp plan
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates who do not meet these requirements will not be considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of direct sales experience calling on commercial roofing contractors on Long Island — this is non-negotiable
- Established relationships with Long Island roofing contractors; you must be able to name accounts on day one
- Working knowledge of single-ply roofing systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM) and low-slope commercial roofing
- Experience working with roofing distributors (ABC Supply, Allied Building Products, Beacon/QXO, etc.)
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle — this is a field-first, road-warrior role
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills; consultative sales approach
- Proficiency with CRM tools and basic reporting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience as a manufacturer's rep or distributor sales rep in the roofing space
- Familiarity with Johns Manville or Owens Corning product lines
- Knowledge of commercial construction bidding process and project timelines
- Experience selling to GCs, property managers, and building owners in addition to contractors
COMPENSATION
- Draw against commission — aggressive upside for top performers
- Commission earned on all BRT-represented lines (JM, OC, and secondary lines)
